Assistance Programs

Energy Saver Program for Texas Customers
El Paso Electric has partnered with the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs to help low-income Texas customers reduce their energy bills.

Project Care
Project Care is a cash relief program that helps families with financial emergencies pay a month's electric bill. Funds for the program are obtained through donations from El Paso Electric customers are matched by EPE shareholders.

New Mexico Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program
The New Mexico Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program, or LIHEAP, assists eligible persons and families in New Mexico with their heating and cooling costs.

Deferred Payment Plan
The Deferred Payment Plan is a temporary arrangement designed to assist you during a financial crisis.

Serious Illness
Persons who could become seriously ill because of disconnection of service must comply with certain requirements to avoid disconnection.

Critical Load Residential Customers
Information for residential customers who have a critical need for electric service because a resident on the premises requires electric service to maintain life.

Low Income Rider
Customers that qualify for this program will not be billed the Residential Service Customer Charge.
