At El Paso Electric we all share a common vision. EPE believes that making the communities and neighborhoods it serves better places in which to live and work is an important part of our jobs.
Through the Volunteers in Action (VIA) Program, EPE makes work hours available to employees who wish to participate in civic and charitable activities. Hundreds of employees contribute thousands of hours to many worthwhile charitable and civic events. In addition, EPE partners with many schools to teach electricity safety.
EPE employees also contribute some of their work hours to schools where students need help with math, reading and other core academic skills. EPE employees are also asked to serve as science fair judges, give presentations on career days, participate in student shadow programs and teach business skills.
Each year EPE celebrates employee volunteerism with an "Awards Power Breakfast." Outstanding EPE volunteers are nominated and selected by co-workers. Honorees are awarded the prestigious VIA MegaWatt Award for Excellence in Community Service.
