El Paso Electric is pleased to announce the following promotions:
Sarahi Gross was promoted to Assistant Vice President of Human Resources. In that position, she will be responsible for all facets of human resource management including recruitment, benefits, and training as well as employee and labor relations. Gross holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from The University of Texas at El Paso. She is a member of the American Society of Training and Development and the Society of Human Resources Management. Gross, who joined EPE 2009, has extensive experience in the Human Resources profession. She served as an independent consultant for many years and was also employed by VF Jeanswear as their area human resources manager.
Chris Montoya was promoted to Assistant Vice President of Information Technology. In that position, he will be responsible for El Paso Electric’s business technologies which include IT operations, Applications, Energy Management Systems, Document Management Services and Communications. Montoya is a graduate of The University of Texas at El Paso where he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems and a Master’s degree in Business Administration. He has also earned certification from the Project Management Institute as a Project Manager Professional. Chris joined El Paso Electric in 1993 and has held various positions including Customer Service Representative, Meter Reader, Programmer, Analyst, Solutions Engineer, Project Manager and Director of Information Technology.
Patrick Reinhart was promoted to Assistant Vice President of Texas External Affairs. His duties will include directing the execution of governmental affairs functions within the State of Texas. Reinhart holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Public Justice as well as a Master’s degree in Public Administration from St. Mary’s University. Prior to joining El Paso Electric in 2010, Reinhart worked in the regulatory and legislative areas of the Austin law firm of Brown McCarroll, LLP. He also worked for Texas Representative Joe Straus, was a law clerk for the Travis County Criminal District Courts, and served as Director of External Affairs at SBC Austin (now AT&T).
Richard Turner was promoted to Assistant Vice President of Corporate Development. In that position he will be responsible for corporate project management and process improvement efforts, emerging technologies which include smart grid and renewable energy activities, and asset optimization and infrastructure initiatives. Turner holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and a Master’s in Business Administration degree from The University of Texas at El Paso. He is currently working on a Master’s of Science degree in Economics. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in Texas and has certification as a Project Manager Professional from the Project Management Institute. Turner, who joined El Paso Electric in 1988, has held various positions at EPE including Resource Engineer, Supervisor of Regulatory Compliance, Manager of Regulatory Compliance and Reporting, Corporate Project Manager, and most recently Director of Corporate Development.
