Independent Board Member - El Paso Electric Company


Mr. Kind brings significant expertise in utility and power sector finance, capital raising, investment and strategic advisory. Prior to founding energy consulting firm eiAdvocates, he worked as an investment banker for more than 30 years, including at Bank of America, where he led Power and Utilities Corporate & Investment Banking, at Citigroup and Kidder Peabody, where he co-directed Power & Utilities teams of each of those firms and at Macquarie Group. He began his career as a Certified Public Accountant.

Mr. Kind currently serves on the boards of NextEra Energy Partners, LP (Chairman of the Conflicts Committee) and Southwest Water Company (Chairman of the People and Remuneration Committee). Mr. Kind has written several papers on the challenges and opportunities facing the energy and power sector, including “Disruptive Challenges: Financial Implications and Strategic Responses to a Changing Retail Energy Environment” and “Lower Spending, Higher Returns”.

Mr. Kind received an MBA in Finance from New York University and a BBA in Accounting from Iona College.
