I-10 FREEWAY and ROAD CLOSURE: El Paso Electric to Conduct Work At I-10 and Lomaland

Complete closure between Yarbrough and Lee Trevino Exits

EL PASO, Texas – El Paso Electric (EPE) will be transferring existing power lines that stretch across I-10 Freeway from an older, wooden pole to a new, steel pole as part of an overall transmission pole replacement initiative in east-central El Paso. The pole replacement will take place in the area of 11045 Gateway Boulevard West (Denny’s Diner) at the intersection of Lomaland Drive.

For the safety of the public and the EPE contractor crews, EPE will be requiring a complete closure of I-10 Freeway in both directions between the Lee Trevino and Yarbrough Drives’ exits. Both Gateways (East and West) will be closed between Lomaland and Yarbrough Drives. The I-10 Freeway and accompanying road closures will take place this Sunday, September 13, 2020 from 6:00 a.m. to 10 a.m. El Paso Police will be on site to assist with the closures and to help traffic flow.

CLOSURE INFORMATION

• EAST BOUND: Freeway traffic will be required to exit at Yarbrough; access roads (Gateway Boulevard East) will be closed beginning at Yarbrough Drive through Lomaland Drive. Access to Gateway Boulevard East through Lafayette Drive and Stanely Street will be closed.
• WEST BOUND: Freeway traffic will be required to exit at Lee Trevino; access roads (Gateway Boulevard West) will be closed beginning at Lomaland Drive through Yarbrough Drive. Access to Gateway Boulevard West through Barranca and Vista De Oro Drives will remain open.
• Access to businesses along Gateway Boulevard West and Lomaland can be done via Lomaland Drive.

DETOUR INFORMATION

East and West bound traffic are encouraged to travel southbound on either Yabrough, Lomaland or Lee Trevino Drives toward North Loop Drive for east and west bound access.

Cierre completo entre las salidas de Yarbrough y Lee Treviño

EL PASO, Texas – El Paso Electric (EPE) estará transfiriendo los actuales cables de luz que cruzan la autopista I-10 de los antiguos postes de madera a nuevos postes de acero como una parte de una iniciativa general de reemplazo de postes de transmisión en el area del este y del centro de El Paso. El reemplazo de los postes se llevará a cabo en el área de 11045 Gateway Boulevard West (Denny’s Diner) en el cruce con Lomaland Drive.

Para efectos de resguardar la seguridad del público y de los equipos de contratistas de EPE, EPE requerirá el cierre completo de la I-10 en ambos sentidos entre las salidas de Lee Treviño Drive y Yarbrough Drive. Las dos vías de acceso (este y oeste) estarán cerradas desde Lomaland Drive hasta Yarbrough Drive. El cierre de la autopista I-10 y demás carreteras se llevará a cabo este domingo, 13 de septiembre, de las 6:00 a.m. hasta las 10:00 a.m. La policía de El Paso estará presente para ayudar con los cierres y con el flujo de tráfico.

AL ESTE: El tráfico en la autopista tendrá que salir en Yarbrough; las vías de acceso (Gateway Boulevard East) estarán cerradas desde Yarbrough Drive hasta Lomaland Drive. El acceso a Gateway Boulevard East por medio de Lafayette Drive y Stanely Street también estará cerrado.

• CARRILES EN DIRECCIÓN AL OESTE: El tráfico en la autopista tendrá que salir a la altura de Lee Treviño; las vías de acceso (Gateway Boulevard West) también estarán cerradas desde Lomaland Drive hasta Yarbrough Drive. El acceso a Gateway Boulevard West por medio de Barranca Drive y Vista de Oro Drive permanecerá abierto.
• El acceso a los negocios ubicados a lo largo de Gateway Boulevard West y Lomaland será por medio de Lomaland Drive.
