EPE’s 2011 Electric Peaking Power Supply RFP
El Paso Electric (EPE) is issuing this Request for Proposals (RFP) to determine how to best obtain additional long-term, low cost and reliable electric resources that will commence operations beginning on May 1, 2014. These peaking resources should be dispatchable by EPE, able to cycle on and off on an hourly/daily basis and able to provide power to the grid without thermal penalty. These requirements are based on EPE’s need for resources during its summer peak hours in year 2014, 2015 and 2016.
Hourly Energy Profile Document
All renewable energy proposals for the 2011 EPE Peaking RFP must complete the Hourly Energy Profile document.
RFP Amended - July 25, 2011
The 2011 EPE RFP has been amended. The second sentence in section 1.0 Introduction now reads, “These peaking resources should be dispatchable by EPE, able to cycle on and off on an hourly/daily basis and able to provide power to the grid without thermal penalty, or load shedding in less than 15 minutes.”
Please review the RFP document to view these changes.
