El Paso Electric Highlights

El Paso Electric Issues Request for Proposals for Renewable Energy Supply
El Paso Electric has issued its 2009 Diversity Request for Proposals to solicit competitive proposals for diverse renewable energy resources that meet the requirements of the New Mexico Renewable Energy Act and New Mexico Public Regulation Commission’s renewable portfolio standard requirements.
Request for Proposals for 50 MW Baseload Power Supply
El Paso Electric issued a Request for Proposals to obtain offers for power resources with peaking and cyclic capability. EPE seeks supply-side and/or demand-side proposals that offer low-cost, reliable electric resources and that propose options that best meet its “peaking” capacity need of approximately 100 MW during its peaking summer hours in 2011.
New Mexico Integrated Resource Planning
In New Mexico, El Paso Electric is required to file an integrated resource plan with the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission covering a planning horizon of 20 years. Public participation in the development of the IRP is a critical element in the process. EPE initiated its Public Advisory Group in June 2008, and will conduct a series of meetings to receive public input and solicit public commentary about resource planning and acquisition issues.
EPE's Connecting to the Community Philosophy
Corporate citizenship is a responsibility we take very seriously here at El Paso Electric. Contributing to our communities is an expressed part of our corporate mission statement, and as such, it helps to define our corporate purpose and mold the actions taken by our employees.
Standard Offer Programs
El Paso Electric is implementing new programs for the 2008 program year that will provide incentive funds for energy efficiency measures to be installed in residential, hard-to-reach (low income), small commercial and large commercial / industrial (Large C&I) located in El Paso Electric’s Texas service territory.
NMPRC Energy Efficiency Rule 17.7.2.13 NMAC
Pursuant to the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission, El Paso Electric hereby files its Annual Report for its Commission-approved energy efficiency and load mangement programs.
