Vice President, System Operations and Planning
John Whitacre, Vice President of System Operations and Planning at El Paso Electric, oversees the all system operations in El Paso Electric's service territory. Whitacre has worked with El Paso Electric for more than 30 years in various positions. He previously served as Vice President of Transmission and Distribution and as Assistant Vice President of System Operations. He holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Electrical engineering from the University of Texas at El Paso and is a registered professional engineer in Texas. His community activities include serving on a number of church committees at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church and other charitable organizations.
