Criteria for Funding Consideration


1. An organization requesting a contribution must complete an El Paso Electric Contribution and Information Requirements form.

2. Programs for which a contribution is being requested should be directly involved with at least one of the following:
  • Youth education;
  • Child crisis or abuse prevention;
  • Individual self-sufficiency for single parents; or
  • Improving appreciation for the cultural diversity of the communities which EPE serves.

3. An organization requesting a contribution should comply with sections 501(c)(3), or 501(c)(4) of the IRS code or comply with the Texas Non-Profit Corporation Act (Article 1396 - 1.01 et.seq) and its subsequent amendments and hold a certificate of authority issued under this Act. Proof of exemption should accompany application.

4. The targeted individuals benefiting from the programs should be from families whose yearly combined gross income is less than $25,000 or meet Department of Commerce poverty level guidelines.

5. An organization requesting a contribution should be governed by a volunteer board of directors.

6. Contribution requests of $1,000 or more will be reviewed by the Civic & Charitable Affairs Committee. Requests for less than $1,000 will be reviewed and approved by the President and Chief Executive Officer in accordance with the EPE Corporate Contribution Policy and Procedures.

7. Organizations must also comply with all applicable local, state and federal nondiscrimination laws.

8. An organization requesting a contribution must have an established program in at least one county within EPE’s service area.

9. Everything else equal, a preference will be given to requests from organizations which are actively and substantially supported financially or through volunteer work by EPE employees.

10. Fax or mail Contribution Application, Information Requirements form and Request for Taxpayer Identification Number and Certification (IRS Form W-9) form to:
