Customers installing and interconnecting a renewable energy generator reduce the energy requirements that would be normally taken from El Paso Electric. Customers have the option to select the installation of a bi-directional meter.   At the end of the billing month, El Paso Electric will read the bi-directional meter that measures net consumption and net production.

There are established guidelines that customers installing and interconnecting a renewable energy generator can follow.
