El Paso Electric Announces New 2015 Summer College Internship Program

El Paso Electric is looking to provide real-world work experience to college students in hopes of attracting local talent to return to their hometown after they graduate. El Paso Electric is launching a summer internship program specifically tailored for college students from our area attending a school out-of-town. This program was created to provide students with an internship opportunity while they are home for the summer. To apply, click here. The deadline to apply is Friday, April, 3, 2015.

Requirements:

  • Students must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university in the United Sates and have completed at least two (2) semesters.
  • Accredited college or university must be outside of El Paso, Texas or Las Cruces, New Mexico.
  • Students must have an overall G.P.A of 3.0 or above.

INTERNSHIP PROGRAM OVERVIEW

As a participant of the El Paso Electric Company Summer College Internship Program, you’ll gain valuable on-the-job experience in one of our corporate divisions, and advance your leadership and professional competencies through challenging work projects and development training. This unique program allows participants to network with executives and business leaders in the Company, gain electrical utility work experience, and build transferable skills such as problem-solving, teamwork, and effective communication. 

HOURS: 40 HRS/WEEK

COMPENSATION: $15 - $20 /hr  Commensurate with major and classification level.
