Local charitable organizations got a little extra help when El Paso Electric offered its support by presenting them with contribution checks. So far this year, more than 97 community groups and organizations in Texas and New Mexico have been the recipients of community donations totaling $1.05 million from El Paso Electric’s Community Partner Program.

Through its Community Partner Program, EPE provides assistance and support to organizations which:

  • impact the long-term economic vitality of our region;
  • impact the quality and accessibility of education, with a focus on furthering STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) related programs and scholarships; and
  • meaningfully impact the quality of life of our customers.

“El Paso Electric is proud to support those organizations that offer assistance to many people in our community,” said Tom Shockley, Chief Executive Officer at EPE. “It is through the relationship between these organizations and El Paso Electric that together we can make a difference in many people’s lives.”

Some of the many organizations that were awarded funds through EPE’s Community Partner Program were:

  •  The Paso del Norte Children’s Development Center
  • The YWCA El Paso del Norte Region
  • The Medical Center of the Americas
  • The U.T. El Paso Alumni Association
