El Paso Electric Recognizes Landscape Workers Who Rescued Toddler

Six employees of Asplundh Tree Expert Co. were recognized today by El Paso Electric for their efforts in rescuing an 18-month-old girl and capturing her would-be kidnapper.  Asplundh Tree Expert Co. is contracted by El Paso Electric to remove tree limbs near electrical lines.

At a recognition reception, El Paso Electric Chief Executive Officer Tom Shockley presented El Paso Electric’s Humanitarian Award to Asplundh employees Ulises Prado, Irving Martinez, Hector Rodriguez and Mario Bañuelas Valenzuela.

“We have a long-standing affiliation with Asplundh and have always recognized the value of their service to El Paso Electric and its customers,” said Shockley.  “The actions by these Asplundh employees is a testament of their moral caliber and decision-making skills to do what is right.”
