Electrical Safety Urged for Pokémon GO Users

July 20, 2016

Due to the nationwide popularity of the app Pokémon GO, El Paso Electric (EPE) urges its customers to exercise caution while playing the augmented reality game. EPE electrical equipment and facilities are located throughout our service territory. With this in mind, here are a few tips to follow in order to stay safe:

  • Follow all EPE safety signage
  • Do not trespass or climb fences onto EPE property
  • Stay away from power lines, transformers, substations and all EPE equipment and facilities
  • Trees can pose a danger if they are near power lines; before climbing a tree, check its surroundings

Be mindful of these tips while trying to catch Pokémon. El Paso Electric reminds all its customers that safety comes first.
