Mr. Cassidy is an electric and gas utility industry veteran having worked for Public Service Enterprise Group (PSEG) for almost 40 years in various senior executive roles, including previously as President and Chief Operating Officer of PSEG Power LLC and as Chief Executive Officer of PSEG Energy Technologies. Additionally, he held various roles within PSEG focusing on system and strategic planning, corporate performance and cost reduction initiatives, transmission system operations, and load dispatch.
Most recently, Mr. Cassidy served as a director of Calpine Corporation from 2008 to 2018, one of America’s largest generators of electricity from natural gas and geothermal resources. He was Chairman of the Calpine board from 2016 to 2018 and Lead Independent Director from 2015 to 2016. During his board tenure, he also served as Chairman of the Compensation Committee and a member of the Nomination and Governance Committee.
Over the course of his career, Mr. Cassidy has served on numerous industry boards, including Electric Power Supply Association (Chairman), National Nuclear Accreditation Board, EPA Clean Air Act Advisory Committee, Nuclear Energy Institute Board of Directors, and Northeast States Clean Air Foundation Board of Directors (Chairman).
Mr. Cassidy is a graduate of New Jersey Institute of Technology and received an MBA from Rutgers University.
