ROAD CLOSURE: El Paso Electric Contractor Requires Closure Along Montana Ave

Construction work part of ongoing TXDOT Montana Widening Freeway Project

EL PASO, Texas – As part of the ongoing Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT) Montana Widening Freeway Project in east El Paso, El Paso Electric (EPE) will need to safely run distribution power lines across Montana Avenue. This will require a complete road closure in both directions along Montana Avenue between Loop 375 and Saul Kleinfeld Dr. this Sunday, September 19 from 5:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

The work will be conducted by EPE contractor, GSW Electric, and work will not disrupt any local electric service. Road closure and traffic detours will be assisted by the El Paso Police Department.

Road Closure Information

• Montana Avenue will be completely closed in both directions between Loop 375 and Saul Kleinfeld Dr.
• Westbound traffic will be reduced to one-lane beginning at Joe Battle Blvd.
• Eastbound traffic will be reduced to one-lane beginning at King Palm Dr.
• Residential and business thru-traffic will maintain access along Montana Avenue and via Turner Road.

Detour Information

• All east- and westbound traffic may use Edgemere Boulevard between Joe Battle Blvd. and Saul Kleinfeld Dr.
• Alternative access for residential and business thru-traffic may use Turner Rd.

Commuters are asked to respect construction barricades and be mindful of reduced speed limits.
