El Paso Electric Welcomes New CFO Richard Ostberg to El Paso Electric

EL PASO, Texas – El Paso Electric (EPE) today announces the appointment of Richard Ostberg as Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective December 28, 2020, who will oversee the Company’s finance and accounting teams as well as NERC Compliance, Corporate Compliance Risk Management.

Richard is a seasoned financial executive with over 30 years’ experience in comprehensive strategy, finance, accounting, regulatory, risk and audit experience. He has worked for companies across the U.S. including San Francisco, CA, Denver, CO, and Salt Lake City, UT.

He understands the complexities of leading accounting and finance teams, and across publicly traded and privately-owned utility companies.”

Richard joins EPE from Pattern Energy Group, Inc., a U.S.-based renewable energy company focusing on clean energies, where he held roles of increasing responsibility from Controller to Senior Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer. Prior to Pattern Energy Group, Richard was the Chief Financial Officer for SourceGas, a natural gas distribution utility that served over 415,000 customers across Arkansas, Colorado, Nebraska and Wyoming.

Richard earned his Masters and Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Utah State University, and is a certified public accountant.
