EL PASO, Texas (June 6, 2023) – El Paso Electric’s (EPE) 12th annual summer college internship program kicked off on May 23, 2023. This year, the summer college intern program consists of six exceptional interns who will gain hands-on experience in various departments, including Substation Construction and Auto Engineering, Business Analytics, Organizational Development, Power Generation and Corporate Communications.

“Being able to provide first-hand experience to upcoming talent has always been a core value here at EPE, and we hope to continue to deliver a real-world learning opportunity that all current and future interns can incorporate into their long-term careers,” says Aimee Saldivar, Senior Training Specialist at EPE.

The program provides college interns the opportunity to be equipped with first-hand industry knowledge that allows them to identify their strengths and develop new skills by working with seasoned professionals in their field.

“It has been a blessing to have been given this opportunity to work alongside the amazing people at EPE, and even though it has only been a couple weeks, I feel as though I have grown so much as a person, both professionally and personally,” says Alex Herrera, a UTEP Corporate Communications and summer college intern at EPE.
