FREEWAY CLOSURE: El Paso Electric Requires Closure Along Interstate 10 in Far West El Paso
EL PASO, TXThe developing areas of far west El Paso and the growing customer demand for energy will require El Paso Electric (EPE) to work on upgrades to distribution power lines across Interstate 10 (I-10) between the Woodrow Bean Transmountain Drive and Artcraft Road exits. For EPE to safely complete this work in a timely manner, I-10 will be completely closed in both north and south directions – including the access roads – from 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 8 to6:00 a.m. on Friday, June 9.
Electric service in this area will not be interrupted. Road closure and traffic detours will be assisted by the El Paso Police Department and Apache Barricade.
Freeway Closure Information
- Thursday, June 8, 2023
- 9:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m.
- North- and south-bound traffic lanes of I-10 and access roads between Transmountain Road and Artcraft Road will be completely closed.
Detour Information
- Northbound traffic will exit on Artcraft Road to Doniphan Drive to Texas State Highway Spur 16 back to I-10.
- Southbound traffic will exit on Texas State Highway Spur 16 to Doniphan Drive to Artcraft Road back to I-10.
Commuters are asked to respect construction barricades and be mindful of reduced speed limits.
