El Paso Electric Team Member Appointed Assistant Governor of District-5520 Rotary

The Rotary Club of El Paso raises funds to contribute to assist with utility bills

EL PASO, Texas – El Paso Electric (EPE) team member Yasser Murga has been appointed Assistant Governor of District 5520 Rotary, as he completes his Presidency of the Rotary Club of El Paso. The Rotary Club of El Paso is a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization whose members plan and execute improvements for the well-being of the El Paso community. One such initiative was the Rotary’s contribution to the Bright Hearts of El Paso Fund.

“We were honored at the opportunity to unite with EPE and provide assistance to those in need following the economic struggles of the pandemic by fundraising for the Bright Hearts of El Paso Fund,” shares Yasser. “The Rotary Club of El Paso was able to raise $2,300 through member donations and club-matching funds. With both EPE and the Rotary having a history of over 100 years in our region, it’s no surprise that we have shared many experiences serving our community together.”

The District 5520 Rotary covers Southwest Texas region and the entire state of New Mexico. In his new role as Assistant Governor for the District, Yasser will promote District goals at the Club level. Yasser has been a Rotarian since 2011 ranging from various committee chairs to serving as a Board member.

Yasser Murga is a native El Pasoan and graduate of Montwood High School in East El Paso. Yasser attended University of Texas at El Paso and received his Bachelor Degree of Electrical Engineering and a Master’s in Business Administration. He is currently a Project Manager at EPE’s Office of Project Management.
