El Paso Electric Names Cynthia Piña Ortwein Regional Vice President

EL PASO, Texas – El Paso Electric (EPE) announces Cynthia Piña Ortwein as Regional Vice President effective Monday, August 16, 2021.

“Since 2017, Cynthia has taken the helm on a large number of economic development initiatives for the region we proudly serve helping showcase that our community is first-class and the perfect place to do business,” shares EPE President and CEO Kelly A. Tomblin. “In her expanded role, I am extremely confident that Cynthia will continue to champion our region and work with stakeholders and regulators to amplify our ability to advance our strategic initiatives and goals.”

Cynthia Piña Ortwein joined EPE in 2017 as Senior Specialist in Corporate Development. She will continue to promote economic development within EPE’s service territory in both Texas and New Mexico and continue to manage relationships with regional partners to help attract companies to the region and facilitate turnkey development services.

Prior to EPE, Cynthia worked at Capital Bank as a credit analyst and relationship manager for the healthcare industry and with FactSet Research Systems as an investment banking consultant in New York City. Cynthia has over 11 years of experience in corporate banking in various markets including New York, Dallas, and Dublin, Ireland.

Cynthia Piña Ortwein received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for Creative Kids Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and in September 2020 was appointed to the Board of Directors for the Mesilla Valley Economic Development Alliance, the economic development organization that serves southern New Mexico.
