2026 New Mexico RFP

2026 New Mexico RFP

El Paso Electric Company (EPE) issues a 2026 New Mexico Request for Proposals (RFP) to secure capacity resources needed to support system reliability and continued load growth within its New Mexico service territory. Resources procured through this RFP will support EPE’s system resource adequacy obligations and, where applicable, will be structured to comply with New Mexico’s Renewable Portfolio Standard and all applicable regulatory requirements.

EPE’s preliminary assessment indicates a need for between 100 MW to 400 MW of accredited capacity to service its New Mexico customers between 2027 and 2032. EPE anticipates procuring resources capable of meeting summer capacity requirements, with an emphasis on reliability, flexibility, and compliance with New Mexico regulatory requirements.
