El Paso Electric to Close Portion of George Dieter Drive in East El Paso to Extend Distribution Lines

EL PASO, Texas – El Paso Electric (EPE) will require an overnight road closure of a portion of George Dieter Drive beginning at 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 16 through 6:00 a.m. on Friday, November 17, 2023. This closure will allow EPE to extend distribution lines from its substation to alleviate increasing load in the area of east El Paso.

Commuters are asked to follow all detour signage in the area. We ask drivers to respect construction barricades and be mindful of reduced speed limits.

Road Closure Details

  • 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 16 through 6:00 a.m. on Friday, November 17, 2023
  • The southbound lanes of George Dieter Dr. will be closed from Rojas Dr. to I-10.
  • The northbound lanes of George Dieter Dr. will be closed from Gateway Boulevard West to Esther Lama Drive.

Closure and traffic detours will be assisted by the El Paso Police Department, Apache Barricade and Texas Department of Transportation.
