EL PASO, Texas – El Paso Electric’s (EPE) very first podcast, Empowering People with Energy – The E.P.E. Podcast, launched in July 2021 as means to connect the Company with the community, dive deeper into technical topics that can be understood by anybody, and to feature local leaders and customers alike across the region.

The E.P.E. Podcast continues to connect the community and the Company as episode three of season two is released today. This episode of Empowering People with Energy honors Women’s History Month, as March comes to a close, featuring two powerful women of EPE both on opposite ends of their careers and making an impact in their own special way.

“Podcasting has really become a popular venue to share important information in an entertaining way, and one thing we have noticed across the electric utility industry is that storytelling is a missing ingredient in sharing with the communities we serve the very important work we do to serve our customers,” shares EPE President and CEO Kelly A. Tomblin. “At EPE, you will find us on traditional media platforms, on a plethora of social media channels including Next Door, and now anywhere you listen to your favorite podcasts. After the pandemic, we all found the power in connections and want to meet our customers where they are and how their needs are at the core of everything we do.”

Season Two Episode Three features 42-year EPE veteran Patricia “Patsy” Salazar, Senior Tools and Materials Handler, and community advocate Itzel Figueroa, Staff Accountant for Power Generation. Patsy describes the evolution of women and her own personal growth with EPE, and shares how her own daughter grew to become her own mentor and source of inspiration. Itzel, a native El Pasoan, describes her journey back to the Sun City and how she finds power in the women who mentored her so she can continue to be a mentor for those who come after her.
