ROAD CLOSURE: Braided Ramp Project Requires Complete Closure of Loop 375 near Zaragoza Port of Entry

EL PASO, Texas – As part of the ongoing Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT) Braided Ramp Project near the Zaragoza International Port of Entry in El Paso’s Mission Valley, El Paso Electric (EPE) contractors will install new wires that will cross Loop 375 – also known as the Border Highway in this area. This much needed work will require a complete closure of Loop 375 Cesar E. Chavez Border Highway in both directions including the access roads between Joe Rodriguez Road and Pan American Drive beginning Tuesday, November 16 through Thursday, November 18 from 11:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

Road closure and traffic detours will be assisted by the El Paso Police Department. Two separate detours will accommodate traffic for passenger vehicles, and the other for semi-trucks.

Road Closure Information

  • Loop 375, commonly referred to as the Border Highway in this area, will be completely closed in both directions including the side access roads.
  • The closure will stretch from Joe Rodriguez Road to Pan American Drive.
  • Access to Joe Rodriguez Road and Southside Road will be closed.

Detour Information for Passenger Vehicles Only

NORTHBOUND TRAFFIC

  • All Northbound traffic will need to exit Loop 375 at S. Zaragoza Road.
  • Northbound traffic will continue under the overpass onto S. Zaragoza Rd. and connect to Alameda Avenue.
  • At Alameda, traffic may continue east to reconnect with Loop 375.

SOUTHBOUND TRAFFIC

  • All Southbound traffic will need to exit Loop 375 at Alameda Avenue.
  • Southbound traffic will continue to S. Zaragoza Road and travel south to reconnect with Loop 375.

Detour Information for Semi-Trucks Only

NORTHBOUND TRAFFIC

  • All Northbound traffic will need to exit Loop 375 at S. Zaragoza Road.
  • Northbound traffic will need to use S. Americas Avenue to connect with Rio Del Norte Drive and Winn Road.
  • Northbound traffic will use Winn Road to connect with Pan American Drive to reconnect with the Loop 375 Northbound access road.

SOUTHBOUND TRAFFIC

  • All Southbound traffic will need to exit Loop 375 at Alameda Avenue.
  • Southbound traffic will need to make a Left on Pan American Avenue.
  • Southbound traffic will use Pan American Ave. to connect with S. Americas Ave. via Winn Road and Rio Del Norte Drive to reconnect with Loop 375 Southbound.

Commuters are asked to respect construction barricades and be mindful of reduced speed limits.
