EPE is always proud to be part of making a difference within the communities we serve. This is why we established the Volunteers on Location to Serve (VOLTS) program. Our employees and their families are ready to bring focus to the much-needed missions of our Community Partners. In June, EPE VOLTS partnered with Casa de Peregrinos in Las Cruces, New Mexico and the United Service Organizations (USO) in El Paso, Texas for two exceptional volunteer experiences.

Casa de Peregrinos is an emergency food pantry that provides essential food items to families in Las Cruces and the surrounding area, and EPE VOLTS assisted in the sorting and bundling of food items. The food insecurity that families in our region face is a challenge that Casa de Peregrinos addresses, and EPE VOLTS were honored to be part of this goal. Onions were unpacked and bagged, and simple meal kits were created for families to enjoy.

The USO supports service members and their families with various programs and resources to keep them connected to family, home, and country. EPE VOLTS were happy to prepare and serve a flavorful lunch to celebrate Father’s Day and kick off the start of Summer! They also played fun games and activities with the children – from water dunk booths, to cheering them on during a game of corn hole – these service members and their families truly kicked off summer!

EPE siempre se enorgullece de ser parte de marcar la diferencia dentro de las comunidades a las que servimos. Es por eso que establecimos el programa Voluntarios Listos Para Servir (VOLTS, por sus siglas en ingles). Nuestros empleados y sus familias están listos para enfocarse en las misiones tan necesarias de nuestros socios comunitarios. En junio, EPE VOLTS se asoció con Casa de Peregrinos en Las Cruces, Nuevo México y United Service Organizations (USO) en El Paso, Texas para dos experiencias voluntarias excepcionales.

Casa de Peregrinos es una despensa de alimentos de emergencia que proporciona alimentos esenciales a familias en Las Cruces y sus alrededores, y EPE VOLTS ayudó en la clasificación y empaquetado de alimentos. La inseguridad alimentaria que enfrentan las familias de nuestra región es un desafío que Casa de Peregrinos enfrenta y EPE VOLTS tuvo el honor de ser parte de este objetivo. Las cebollas se desempacaron y embolsaron, y se crearon kits de comidas simples para que las familias disfruten.

La USO apoya a los miembros del servicio y sus familias con varios programas y recursos para mantenerlos conectados con la familia, el hogar y el país. ¡EPE VOLTS estuvo feliz de preparar y servir un sabroso almuerzo para celebrar el Día del Padre y dar inicio al verano! También jugaron juegos y actividades divertidos con los niños, desde cabinas de volcadas de agua hasta animándolos durante un juego de hoyo de maíz: ¡estos miembros del servicio y sus familias realmente comenzaron el verano!
