Did you know that heating and cooling account for the majority of your monthly energy bill? If your household isn’t properly insulated, chances are that much of the cold and warm air is escaping and taking your money with it.

The Income Qualified Rebate can help you reduce energy spending and use by improving the energy efficiency of your home. The Income Qualified Program provides cash incentives for insulation improvements in your ceiling and walls. Rebates are calculated according to the level of insulation improvements that you make.

The Knowledge You Need.

Available only to residential customers in El Paso Electric’s Texas service area.

Insulation levels are measured by R-Value. Simply put, the higher the R-value, the higher the level of insulation. Rebates are calculated according to the difference between your existing R-Values and minimum levels required by the program. The required improvements and existing conditions are specified in the tables below.

Participation Made Easy.

1. Select a contractor of your choice. Customers may also elect to pursue an Insulation rebate without the help of a contractor.
2. Once new insulation has been installed, the rebate form must be completed online or mailed along with a copy of your receipt or invoice to the rebate processing center address. The rebate form can be accessed using one of the options at the bottom of this webpage.
3. Your rebate will be mailed directly to you. Rebate checks will be mailed within 4-6 weeks of receiving the application.
4. Insulation MUST be purchased and installed in the current program year.

To calculate your existing R-value use a ruler to measure the thickness of your existing insulation. Use an R-value of 3 for each inch of existing insulation. So if you have 4 inches of insulation, your starting R-value is R-12. (4 inches x R-3 per inch = R-12)
