El Paso Electric Kicks off Summer Internship Program
EL PASO, Texas - El Paso Electric (EPE or “Company”) kicked off its 15th annual Summer College Internship Program and relaunched its High School Internship Program on June 1, 2026. EPE welcomed 28 students to the program, gaining valuable hands-on experience across 24 departments within the Company.
The Summer College Internship program consists of 10-week professional opportunities for eleven college students from various universities including The University of Texas at El Paso, Texas A&M University -Texarkana, Texas Tech University, New Mexico State University and Southern Adventist University.
Through a partnership with El Paso Independent School District, 17 high school students shadowed seasoned professionals providing them with valuable mentorship opportunity and insight to future career development.
"Our internship program provides students with hands-on experience, direct access to subject matter experts and professional development opportunities,” said Aimee Saldivar, Senior Human Resources Operations Specialist at El Paso Electric. “Over the past 15 years, El Paso Electric has focused on helping students strengthen workplace skills, expand their professional networks and gain meaningful exposure to the utility industry while building a strong pipeline of future talent."
